Sú známe prvé trasy lietadla 787-9 spoločnosti Virgin Atlantic

Spoločnosť Virgin Atlantic nasadí svoj prvý Boeing 787-900 na trase z Londýna do Bostonu, ktorú začnú prevádzkovať šesťkrát do týždňa od 28. októbra.

Prvé lietadla Boeing 787-900, ktoré budú spoločnosti dodané v septembri, budú konfigurované do troch tried, vrátane triedy „premium economy“ s 264 sedadlami.   

Počas nasledujúcich piatich mesiacov sa flotila lietadiel Boeing 787-900 spoločnosti Virgin Atlantic bude rozrastať a postupne budú umiestňované na lety do Washington DC, Newark a New York JFK.

Podľa generálneho riaditeľa Craiga Kreegera bude tento typ lietadla do roku 2018 predstavovať viac ako polovicu celkovej flotily Virgin Atlantic.  Kým menší Boeing 787-800 v rámci Európy prevádzkujú spoločnosti Norwegian, Thomson Airways a LOT, Virgin Atlantic bude prvým prepravcom v Európe prevádzkujúcim väčší variant a to Boeing 787-900.

Virgin Atlantic is to deploy its first Boeing 787-900 on the Boston route from London, operating the service six time per week from 28 October.

Its first Boeing 787-900, which will be delivered in September, will be configured in three classes, including premium economy, with 264 seats.

During the next five months will be Boeing 787-900 fleet of Virgin Atlantic increases and it will place the aircraft on flights to Washington DC, Newark and New York JFK.

Chief executive Craig Kreeger says the type  will account for over half the Virgin Atlantic fleet by 2018. While the smaller Boeing 787-800 is already service with airlines including Norwegian, Thomson Airlines and LOT, Virgin Atlantic will be the first carrier in Europe to use the larger, Boeing 787-900. 

Testovanie Airbus A350 v Spojených arabských emirátoch

Airbus ukončil testovanie svojho Airbusu A350-900 vo veľmi horúcich meteorologických podmienkach, ktoré sa konalo v Al Ain v Spojených arabských emirátoch. Do Al Ain vyrazil Airbus A350 11. júna a uskutočnil niekoľko skúšobných letov ponad Perzský záliv. Testy boli zamerané na správanie sa motora a jeho výkon v podmienkach vysokých teplôt a na kontrolu systémov ako sú chladiace zariadenia. Test zahŕňal aj pobyt A350 na horúcom slnku po dobu niekoľkých hodín. Podľa meteorologických údajov Al Ain teploty dosahovali 48°C. Stredovýchodným dopravcom, ktorý má ako prvý zaviesť do prevádzky daný typ je Qatar Airways. Ďalšími z tohto regiónu sú Etihad Airways, Kuwait Airways a Yemenia.

Airbus chce zabezpečiť certifikáciu pre A350 v treťom štvrťroku. Testovacia flotila získala viac ako 2 000 hodín vo viac ako 460 letoch. 

Airbus has completed hot-weather testing of its A350-900 at Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates. Airbus A350 had headed out on 11 June and carried out a few of test flights over the Persian Gulf. The tests focused on engine behavior and performance in high-temperature conditions, and checks systems such as the cooling equipment. Test included parked Airbus A350 in the sun for several hours. According to meteorological data of Al Ain the temperature reached 48°C. Middle Eastern carrier, which is the launch customer fot the type is Qatar Airways.  Others from that region are Etihad Airways, Kuwait Airways and Yemenia.

Airbus is intending to secure certification for the A350 in third quarter. The test fleet has accumulated more than 2,000h in over 460 flights.
